Small Joy

April 28, 2014 § Leave a comment

I remember wonder
when I was small
and fascinated
by the world’s bigness
I was
one of billions,
and saw joy in the vastness
of oceans and clouds
and mystery
in everything

I remember discovery
of the world’s greatness,
found in grand skies
but mostly
found in vast colonies
of roly poly bugs
beneath overturned stones
in my own backyard.
A simple reason for elation
just waiting to be discovered.
